Homemade Yong Tau Foo 鸿兴自制酿豆腐, Alexandra Village Food Centre

Homemade Yong Tau Foo?

Seeing many people having Yong Tau Foo when we reached there. Was pondering whether to order the clear soup or laksa base. Finally, we settled for the clear soup since I did not see any one having the laksa.

The Yong Tau Foo items are fixed and already pre-mixed for us. It is unlike from most of other stalls which allow you to select the items yourself and charge you based on the number of items which you have taken.

The meatball is hard on the outside and I cannot feel the real taste of the meat. It seems that too much starch are added to it.

Verdict: 6/10

The noodle texture is chewy (Q-Q) but the alkaine taste (similar to kee chang's) is still quite strong. The sauce added to the noodle is too bland for me but it goes nice with the chilli and sweet sauce.

Verdict: 6/10.

Vegetable salad? The vegetable was scalded with hot boiling water. The added sauce tasted like a kind of fermented bean sauce.

Verdict: 5/10.

This is the full set that costs merely $4. Value for money.
